Velvet d'Amour is an acclaimed photographer in Paris, France, with over three decades of residency in the City of Light. Dedicated to redefining beauty through inclusive and empowering photography, she celebrates the unique essence of every individual—regardless of size, age, ethnicity, or ability.
Her luxurious boudoir shoots in Paris blend artistic depth with profound empowerment, transforming intimate moments into timeless treasures.
Drawing from her groundbreaking career as a plus-size model, Velvet shattered norms on runways for haute couture icons like Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano. She has graced campaigns by legendary photographers including Nick Knight for French Vogue, Ellen von Unwerth, Gérard Rancinan, and Stefan Rappo. Beyond modeling, she performed as a contemporary dancer with French choreographers Lionel Hoche's MÊME BANJO—touring France and culminating at the prestigious Théâtre National de Chaillot—and Cyril Davy's C YOSHI M. She has also acted in films such as the surreal French feature Avida (premiered at Cannes and Tribeca Film Festivals), playing the title role, and Luc Besson's Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Additionally, Velvet appeared on the French reality TV show La Ferme Célébrités, spending nine of ten weeks in the South African bush, making $72,000 for her chosen charity (which helped missing and abused children) before being voted out.

In 2012, Velvet founded Volup2, an innovative online magazine amplifying diverse voices through her lush, art-directed imagery. Her professional photography journey began in the late 1990s in New York City, testing emerging models for elite agencies like Ford and Wilhelmina. She honed her craft in Florence, Italy, under James White, internationally renowned celebrity photographer.
Velvet's work has appeared in Photo Vogue, the de Young Museum in San Francisco, and its commemorative book.
In September 2025, she was honored as Best Photographer of the Year in Portraiture by the prestigious 1829 Awards. Later this year, Sebastian + Melmoth, James White's company, will publish her debut photography book.
As a luxury boudoir photographer, Velvet feels privileged to earn the trust of clients seeking empowering, heart-stirring images that last a lifetime. Her inclusive approach ensures every boudoir photoshoot becomes a celebration of self-love and elegance.
